The job search process can get hectic, more so now during the covid 19 pandemic where unemployment is a dire reality for a lot of people. That stretch of time between applying for a job and being called for the interview usually feels like agony. However when things pan out as expected, it feels great. Now the only hurdle that remains is passing the actual job interview.

Most people will do or say anything just to get that job. I pondered over this recently and wondered just how honest people are during job interviews. I did some research on some of the most common job interview questions and asked a couple of people at different career levels on how they would honestly answer these questions if their chance of getting that job wasn’t on the line .Their answers were beyond hilarious. Remember not to ever repeat these during your own interviews:)

What are your weaknesses?

“I tend to get late a lot. I detest waking up super early, getting caught up with traffic just to come make you more money than I would ever earn in a year.”

“Whiskey.”

“Women.”

Why do you want to work here?

“I don’t. I just can’t seem to get a job anywhere else”

What are your strengths?

“I’m very good at minding my own business. I don’t care as much as I should about anything really, unless I’m paid enough for that.

What is your ideal work environment?

“To be honest, if I get nice little corner office with a lock where I wont have to put up with colleagues bothering me every now and then, that would be great. I’ll get to watch You tube and scroll through memes in peace.”

How do you handle criticism?

“I pretend to understand every word and nod in agreement. In essence ,I am actually plotting my revenge.”

What motivates you?

“Money!”

“More Money!”

“Definitely not work!”

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

“The thought of the future makes me particularly anxious. It messes up with my Zen.I just want to be alive.Does that make sense?”

What makes you special compared to the other applicants for this role?

“I honestly cant think of a damn  thing.”

Tell me about a difficult work situation you experienced and how you overcame it

“There was a time when I had to collaborate with the team on a difficult task. I ended up calling in sick that whole week.”

What are some of the core skills you have that are required for this job?

“None really. I am just prepared to do absolutely anything to avoid getting fired.”
